Gold leaf and new drawing

"Artist is juicing his heart"
Graphite pencil and gold leaf (imitation) on paper, 7'' x 10'' (18 x 25 cm)

I've never worked with a gold leaf before, but always wanted to. It was very fun to work with - after you apply it to the paper (on special glue) you have to wait and then sweep unglued pieces with a brush. It's a very soothing and nervous process at the same time, because you have to be careful and accurate while applying the glue, in addition, the feeling that one mistake may spoil all your work is irritating. There were a lot of small details, so it was hard to apply the glue to the right place and use a right amount of it. However, it was a very exciting process! Can't wait to try gold leaf on oil painting.

Of course, after you buy such an interesting thing, you'll need to decide on what to glue it. I didn't have a lot of doubts - my old work was a perfect choice, so the drawing is a rework of it.

Here is a process of creating this painting.
